Shannon always shows up for our SQuad, but recently she's been shining extra bright! She hit the ground running as soon as turn was over with new ideas, launches, and opportunities for everyone. I'm so impressed by her ability to stay organized even when there are a million moving pieces. AND she has the best attitude no matter what! There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes that we don't see, which makes the output of her work that much more impressive. Forever shouting it from the rooftops: Shannon is the absolute best of the best!! How lucky we all are to have her on the SQuad!

Gerry has truly been a rock star at Vue on Walnut. Since joining the team, he has made remarkable progress despite facing numerous challenges. He consistently motivates himself and his team toward success, all while bringing a wonderful sense of humor to the workplace. Keep up the fantastic work, Gerry! This is Vue's year of success, and I couldn't be prouder of you and your team.

Ryan is definitely "The Engine"!!! Whether it is fundraising, negotiating with lenders, assembling investor materials or meeting face-to-face with luminaries in the world of student housing, he never runs out of energy. I often wonder if he ever sleeps. I loved having him with Melanie and me at the NMHC Student Housing Conference. A true star!

I wanted to take a moment to recognize April Searcey for being Steady in all Seasons! Guys! IT is not fun and can be so frustrating sometimes. April handled the stress with ease and was able to effectively work with local internet support reps and Iron Oak IT reps. Staying steady is what got this project across the finish line. I am proud of you April and thank you for your hard work and perseverance.

When I think of Ashley, I immediately think of our SQUAD values—she truly embodies them all! I’m incredibly thankful to have her just a team call away. Whenever I have questions about any issues with Entrata, she’s always there to help. Ashley takes the time to explain everything she does on the backend of Entrata, ensuring we understand how to address any concerns with our residents and prospects.

I want to nominate you for Unparalleled Engagement. You have pushed so hard for leasing. In all honesty, this week you have shown this through and through. I've heard you on all tours this week (about 10) being so personable with these kids, and you sure do make their day. You have been a breath of fresh air for these applicants touring, and it's showing with our numbers. You are the type of person who hears about a goal, and truly reaches for the stars & MORE. Your can-do attitude does not go unnoticed, and I am forever thankful you chose us as a home for your job. I know that you will go places, and I am so excited that I got to be a part of your success. Your growth will be amazing, and I just wanted to show some recoginition for your dedication to me, this team, the property, and our residents.

Student Quarters is no doubt the best company I have ever worked for! Not only was I hired on just for temporary help for turn, but I have been able to work my way up to leasing manager. Every day I go to work looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities, but it never feels like I am actually at work. Working here is just like having a huge extended family which is so rare at jobs. Everyone has embraced me with open arms and no matter who it is everyone loves to help each other. Student Quarters has an uncanny ability to see the potential in people that other companies would rather not take the risk on. Two years ago, I came from a company that saw I was not college-educated and did not think that I could handle the challenge of a promotion. When SQ bought my asset, they trained me and saw a potential in me that others did not. After seeing results, they took a chance and made me the General Manager of my property. Throughout my career in the student housing industry, I have worked for various operators that I feel have never truly “Questioned the Status Quo.” Instead, many chose to seek the easiest and most comfortable route to keep an asset afloat. Student Quarters not only challenges me daily to think critically and strategically before making decisions but has also proven to me that it is okay to be uncomfortable. The unmatched support I receive from all of the team members that make up our SQuad is what allows me to persevere through the “uncomfortable” – ultimately providing growth and development opportunities.
