Mental Health and Wellness Movement

Student Quarters' Partnership with the College Student Mental Wellness Advocacy Coalition

At Student Quarters, our mission goes beyond providing exceptional student housing. We envision a world where all young adults not only survive but thrive in a nurturing environment that fosters their well-being and academic success. As a part of our commitment to the well-being of our residents, we are proud partners of the College Student Mental Wellness Advocacy Coalition, the Hi, How Are You Project, and The Jed Foundation.

A Coalition for Mental Wellness

Together with the College Student Mental Wellness Advocacy, we form a powerful coalition, dedicated to promoting and advocating for mental wellness among our residents. Our goal is to facilitate personal fulfillment and academic success by creating an environment where young adults can openly discuss and address their mental health.

In a world where the pressures of college life can be overwhelming, we recognize the importance of mental wellness in achieving one’s full potential. Our coalition is committed to understanding the unique challenges faced by our student housing residents, encouraging open dialogues about mental health, and raising public awareness about its impact on the college journey and beyond.

The Hi, How Are You Project

For the past two years, the Austin, Texas-based non-profit, the Hi, How Are You Project, has conducted a College Student Fall Mental Wellness Survey. This survey has been instrumental in understanding the student experience and has paved the way for special peer-to-peer training programs.

Now, this remarkable organization and coalition members are taking their mission a step further. They have joined forces with the global insights firm, Ipsos, to expand and amplify the survey into an annual “Thriving College Student Index.” This index will provide accurate and actionable data that will serve as a foundation for groundbreaking initiatives.

With this valuable data at their disposal, the Hi, How Are You Project and coalition members will co-create industry-wide peer-to-peer on-site training programs, connect residents to campus resources for mental health and wellness, and promote effective strategies to manage stress and anxiety during the college years.

A Call to Action for Student Housing Managers

At Student Quarters, we have partnered and administered the survey to our residents across the country. By doing so, we aim to become a vital part of the most comprehensive and credible data collection effort on student mental wellness. This data will serve as an invaluable benchmark to measure the impact of mental health initiatives over the long term.

By uniting in this effort, we can make a substantial difference in the lives of college students. Together, we can foster environments that prioritize mental wellness and ensure that no student feels alone in their journey.

In this month of giving and gratitude, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who have been part of this movement for mental wellness. Together with the Hi, How Are You Project and our coalition partners, we believe that we can create a brighter, healthier, and more fulfilling future for our college students. Let’s champion mental wellness and stand together in creating a world where all young adults not only survive but thrive.
